About Wok
My wife and I appear Chinese, but we speak with a distinct Pakistani accent. We both grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, and have grandparents from China.
Our Woodbridge restaurant Wok with Yu is also home to
two cultures, a fusion mainly of Chinese and South Asian.
The menu gives a full explanation of the eatery’s cultural meld — it is Indian, Hakka, Chinese and Thai cuisine.
Appetizers include roti and shrimp and chicken pakora. Chicken selections include: Kung Pao, lemon, butter, Manchurian and Bombay chicken; several noodle dishes include the word Hakka, such as Special Hakka chow mein (soft egg noodle with chicken, shrimp and vegetable chow mein).
